Herbs for High Cholesterol

Statin Benefits without side effects

Natural Red Yeast Rice Powder (with no artificial lovastatin added) contains the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor mevinolin also found in some 'statin' medications. Red Yeast has been shown to increase the liver's ability to metabolize LDL and decrease the liver's overall production of cholesterol without the typical side effects of the statin drugs. Garcinia (Garcinia cambogia) extract lowers cholesterol, increases HDL, and curbs the appetite. Globe artichoke is another cholesterol-lowering agent and is known as one of the best liver tonics in western herbalism.
